Rick McMurtrey, Area Director for the UGA Small Business Development Center in Augusta, brings over 33 years of business experience to the UGA SBDC. Prior to joining the SBDC, Rick spent more than 20 years as a Sonic Drive In franchisee, developing the Augusta, GA market to 13 stores and over 500 employees. Rick brings extensive knowledge in franchise development along with significant experience in marketing, advertising, human resources, and personnel management needed to grow from a one-store operation to a mid-size business.
Rebecca Kruckow has been with UGA-SBDC at Augusta since November 2014 in the role of Program Coordinator. She provides scheduling, information, and marketing for consultants and clients, presents recurring classes including “Starting Your Own Business,” “Boots to Business,” and assists with other programs hosted by the local office. In addition to class duties, Rebecca Kruckow provides aspiring entrepreneurs with basic business information and direction in becoming a business owner.
Jay Forrester is Division President of South State Bank. Prior to his position at South State he was President of Georgia Bank and Trust. During his career he also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Loan Officer and Group Vice President of Retail Banking. His banking career began in 1991 with Citizens & Southern National Bank, which later became NationsBank (now Bank of America), where he served as Credit Department Manager and Vice President in Commercial Lending in the Atlanta, Albany and Augusta, Georgia markets.
