Columbia County Extends Closures of Offices and Facilities

Following Governor Kemp’s Shelter in Place Executive Order, Columbia County offices and facilities will remain closed to the public through Monday, April 13, 2020.

Open space and walking trails at county parks will be open for personal activity and exercise. However, when out using the walking trails, please continue to practice social distancing and do not congregate in large groups.

During this time period, all public safety personnel, including Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), along with the delivery of meals by the county’s Senior Center and essential/medical trips will be provided by Public Transit will continue to operate under normal guidelines. Online services are encouraged, and no late fees for county services will be incurred and services will not be disconnected. Mission critical personnel will continue county operations and will take calls through the county’s 311 center during normal business hours.

The Board of Commissioners asks that you please continue to follow the shelter in place order issued by Governor Kemp and only leave the house for essential trips such as traveling to work, getting groceries, medicines, and for medical reasons.
