Quentin Cooks selected for the Technical College System of Georgia 2024 Senior Leadership Academy

Augusta Technical College is excited to announce that Mr. Quentin Cooks, Dean of the T.R. Reddy School of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, has been selected for the 2024 cohort of the Technical College System of Georgia Senior Leadership Academy (SLA).

The Senior Leadership Academy is a professional development opportunity designed to encourage professional growth and career enhancement. The program also supports the leadership development goals of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and its 22 colleges. The SLA program is a yearlong commitment which includes eight sessions that meet for two days each.

"Augusta Technical College congratulates Dean Cooks on his acceptance and participation in the second cohort of TCSG SLA Program. As leader of our T.R. Reddy School Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology School, I’m positive this program will benefit his development as a higher education leader for years to come," stated College President Dr. Whirl.

Participants will meet with the TCSG Commissioner, college presidents, members of the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia, and industry partners throughout the year.

The SLA program will cover a wide variety of topics which include

  • Strategic Planning

  • Data driven decision making

  • Budgeting

  • Student Affairs

  • Compliance

  • Workforce development

  • Legal Services

The Senior Leadership Academy will allow me to strengthen my leadership skills, expand my knowledge of the Technical College System of Georgia, and network among my peers.
