Join Us For the 5th Street Mural Festival Ribbon Cutting!

The 5th Street Mural Festival will take place from April 20th to April 27th, with 37 artists working all week on over 40 murals. The newly painted murals will be officially “unveiled” at the mural ribbon cutting at 11am on Saturday April 27th. Food trucks will be available with refreshments: Food Thyme, Cozi Cup Coffee, and Blue Sky Ice Cream. Speakers include Heather Dunaway, Rhian Swain – Board President, Leon Maben – Public Art Advisory Panel, Commissioner Francine Scott, Commissioner Jordan Johnson and Alphonzo Williams, Deputy Director at Parks & Rec.  DJ Coco and DJ Matto providing the music magic. There’s even a scavenger hunt for the kids!

The Fifth Street Mural Project spans the abutments lining both sides of 5th Street between Reynolds Street and the 5th Street Freedom Pedestrian Bridge. As part of a festive celebration of mural arts, the community is encouraged to come out and watch the artists bring their visions to life.

The selection of artists include: Art Abdon, Gabi Anderson, Emily Bender, Colleen Beyer, Lauren Boykin, Carrie Brooks, Alex Bugg, Theron Cartwright, Si-Long Chen, Donna Cote, Jason Craig, A.C. Daniel, Levi Dilley, Allison Dunavant, Cyndy Epps, Carrie Everitt, Brittany Fields, Jessica Gorman, Tripp Gustin, Tiffany Jackson, Sway Jones, Destinee Love, Isabel Massell, Brandon Moultrie, Dannie Niu, Jon Paschal, Cole Phail, Rachel Polvadore, Aort Reed, Tyler Richardson, William Sanders, Lindsey Spears, Wesley L. Stewart, Rhian Swain, Jacki Mayo Van Dyke, and Stacey Vincenzetti.
