Kerry Bridges joins Augusta Technical College Board of Trustees

Augusta Technical College Foundation is proud to announce the election of Kerry Bridges to its esteemed Board of Trustees. Mr. Bridges, currently the Region Executive for Georgia Power’s East Region, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Foundation.
With a distinguished career, Mr. Bridges has served in many roles across Georgia with Georgia Power during the last 16 years. He has served in various roles including Power Delivery engineer, Project Manager and numerous leadership roles in Region External Affairs and Corporate Sales. He began his career with Georgia Power in Statesboro and has since worked in Savannah, Macon, Augusta and Atlanta plus multiple statewide roles. He most recently served as the Natural Resources manager where he oversaw the vision and strategy for Georgia Power’s lakes and recreation programs as well as forestry and conservation initiatives. As the Region Executive since January 2024, he is responsible for strengthening the company’s community connections, leading company initiatives, coordinating all company functional activities, and driving social justice and equity for all citizens across multiple counties in East Georgia.
In the community, Mr. Bridges served as treasurer on the executive committee for the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce board of directors and as president of the Association of the U.S. Army - Greater Augusta Fort Eisenhower Chapter and the Kiwanis Club. He previously chaired the Development Authority of Columbia County and Leadership Columbia County’s Executive Forum. He also served on the executive committee of the UGA Archway Partnership in Thomson/McDuffie County and on the United Way steering committee. He regularly volunteers with the Special Olympics. He is a graduate of Leadership Macon, Leadership Columbia County, Georgia Chamber’s High Potentials Leadership Program and the Center for Creative Leadership. Throughout his career, Kerry has been active in multiple Citizens of Georgia Power chapters and is a Mamie K. Taylor award recipient.
"The goals of Augusta Technical College and Georgia Power Company align well in creating a sustainable workforce that will continue to meet the needs of our growing business community well into the future," stated Mr. Bridges.
Mr. Bridges earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Georgia. He also earned a master’s degree in technology with an emphasis on environmental and safety from Georgia Southern University. He has been a registered professional engineer in the State of Georgia since 2004.
"Augusta Tech is honored to have Mr. Bridges join our foundation board. His service to the board will allow us to strengthen our long-term relationship with Georgia Power as we seek to grow a strong workforce throughout the region," stated Augusta Technical College President Dr. Jermaine Whirl.
Mr. Bridges is a graduate of Leadership Macon, Leadership Columbia County, Georgia Chamber’s High Potentials Leadership Program and the Center for Creative Leadership. Throughout his career, Kerry has been active in multiple Citizens of Georgia Power chapters and is a Mamie K. Taylor award recipient. He and his family have called the CSRA home for many years.
