Augusta Country Club Set to Host 103rd Georgia Amateur Golf Championship

The best amateur golfers in the state of Georgia are in town this week to compete in the Georgia Amateur Championship at the Augusta Country Club. The Georgia Amateur Championship began in 1916 with Augusta National Golf Club co-founder Bobby Jones winning the inaugural title at Capital City Club in Atlanta.

Augusta Country Club last hosted the tournament in 1991. This will be the seventh time the club, which is documented back to 1899 as the first golf club established in Augusta, has been selected by the Georgia State Golf Association to host the event.
