SpeakUpSis, a local community-focused business, is empowering people people to embrace and share their personal stories. Founded by Angel Charmaine Wright, her own journey through adversity, including childhood trauma, marital challenges, and personal struggles, inspired her to create the platform. “We need a space where we can actually open up our mouths and speak up,” she said. “I believe that it is these authentic conversations just like we’re having.”

Within its short time, she has launched the SpeakUpSis magazine, podcast, and talk show.
She recently created the Empowerment Center to offer workshops on business startup, creative arts, and more. “We have all been in the social media space for a while, especially since the pandemic,” she recalled. “And people are online and they’re doing business online. And the Empowerment Center is designed to help bring people back into the land of the living.”
