Augusta Technical College Holds Graduation Ceremony for Inaugural Nuclear Operator Apprenticeship Program

Augusta Technical College held a graduation ceremony for the inaugural cohort in the Nuclear Operator Apprenticeship program.
The program is a partnership between Augusta Technical College and the Savannah River Site Apprenticeship School where students have on site training coupled with academic coursework requirements.
Coursework includes Math, Physics, Nuclear Physics, Instrumentation and Controls, Mechanical Science and Electrical Science. The program consists of 530 hours and is an intensive 7-month program. Graduates are employed in Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, Operations and Savannah River Nuclear Laboratory, Operations.
“We’ve established a fantastic partnership with Augusta Technical College, and we're proud to celebrate the success of this inaugural cohort. The graduates have laid the groundwork for lifelong careers and this graduation marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the graduates and our regional partnerships,” stated Dr. Dorian Newton, Site Training Director, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions.
