The City of Aiken is excited to announce the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Aiken County Farmers Market, taking place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. The celebration will be held at the market’s historic location at 115 Williamsburg Street SE, Aiken, SC, 29801. The market will be open for its regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This special event marks seven decades of the Aiken County Farmers Market, the oldest county farmers' market in continuous service in the same location in South Carolina. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local farmers, bakers, and crafters while enjoying a variety of festivities, including: free samples from vendors, free raffle entry, anniversary cake, children’s activities, a proclamation, and more.

The Aiken County Farmers Market is a beloved community institution where fresh produce, baked goods, meat, honey, and handmade crafts are sold directly by local vendors. The market features tables built by the farmers and their families over 70 years ago, offering a unique historical experience. It remains a vibrant hub where conversations and recipes are exchanged among friends, both old and new.
