Goodwill Launches “Socks for our Kids” Campaign on National Care for Kids Day
Friday, September 20th, 2024
In celebration of National Care for Kids Day on Friday, Sept. 20, Goodwill is excited to announce the launch of its “Socks for Kids” campaign, supporting local students in need. Select Goodwill retail store locations will host a new sock drive to provide essential items for schoolchildren just in time for the cooler fall season.
Partnering with the community, Goodwill invites local shoppers to join the effort by purchasing bags of NEW socks for only $5. These socks will be donated directly to students in our local schools, which are in high demand. According to area teachers, socks are one of the most needed items for children, especially during the colder months. Shoppers can make a tangible difference for students in their neighborhoods by simply buying a bag.
“Together, we can ensure children don’t go without something as basic as warm, comfortable socks,” said Jennifer Tyner, Vice President for Development for Goodwill. “This campaign is a simple yet powerful way for our community to come together and support our students, one step at a time.”
Participating Goodwill stores will also host a special drawing to determine which local school within the listed counties will receive the sock donations. Purchased socks will be distributed at schools in Richmond and Waynesboro counties.
The following Goodwill retail training stores will be participating in the “Socks for Kids” campaign:
- Goodwill Peach Orchard Rd: 3120 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta, GA 30906
- Goodwill Village West Shopping Center: 3179 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30907
- Goodwill Wrightsboro Rd: 3362 Wrightsboro Rd, Augusta, GA 30909
- The new Goodwill on Walton Way: 1505 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904
Celebrate Care for Kids Day with Goodwill to support children in need. By purchasing a bag of socks, everyone can make a meaningful contribution to the well-being of local students. As National Care for Kids Day kicks off this campaign, it’s a reminder that small acts of kindness can have a big impact. The sale on socks will continue until supplies are purchased.
