Georgia Voters Shatter 3M for In Person Early Voting

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, October 31st, 2024

Tuesday, October 29th marked the sixteenth day of Early Voting for the November 5th Presidential Election. On Tuesday, Georgia voters broke the 3 million mark for in-person Early Voting turnout - unprecedented in Georgia history. As of Tuesday at 3:30pm, total turnout surpassed the 3.2 Million mark, and 3 Million for Early Voting with 3,009,204 check-ins, shattering previous Early Voting performance.

On day sixteen of Early Voting in previous years, 1,352,090 (2018), 2,148,392 (2020), and 1,765,317 (2022) voters had turned out for in-person Early Voting.

“Georgia voters know we’ve made it easy to cast a ballot. It’s really that simple,” said Secretary Raffensperger. “Over the past four years we’ve worked tirelessly to prepare for this election by adding Early Voting days and investing in infrastructure, only to be rewarded with the lies of Jim Crow 2.0 and a missed All-Star Game. We’re battled tested and ready, despite the critics.”

Statewide, reports of long lines were minimal, though there were some reports of voters waiting in line for more than 30 minutes from a few popular voting locations in metro areas. Early Voting turnout is expected to increase during this final week of Early Voting which ends on Friday.
