Secretary Raffensperger Hosts She Leads Webinar “From Service to Success: Navigating Entrepreneurship for Veterans”
Monday, November 18th, 2024
In honor of Veterans Day, we celebrate the resilience and contributions of our servicemen and women, empowering them to succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is pleased to announce that his office will be hosting a She Leads webinar on Wednesday, November 20 at 6pm titled, “From Service to Success: Navigating Entrepreneurship for Veterans.”
“Our veterans serve our Nation honorably,” said Raffensperger. “Now we’re serving them as a key partner in their future financial success.”
Every year, thousands of veterans transition to civilian life, and many are increasingly choosing the path of entrepreneurship. However, this shift can be challenging; the regimented and structured nature of military life often makes the move to a self-directed career feel disorienting or overwhelming. Despite these hurdles, veterans possess a wealth of skills that are highly adaptable to entrepreneurship.
Join our webinar to explore the journey from military service to business ownership. We’ll cover essential topics such as starting a business, securing funding, preparing your investor package, addressing common questions, and providing actionable insights tailored for veterans.
The webinar is moderated by Award-winning Journalist Donna Lowry. Speakers for this free webinar include Tim Craig, Director of Business Development for the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce; Kimberly Lankford, Financial Journalist; Crystal McPherson, Community Engagement Lead, Better Business Bureau®; and Reginald "Reggie" Thompson, Director, Georgia Veterans Business Outreach Center (GA VBOC), Georgia VECTR Center.
This webinar will take place on the phone and online, giving our participants flexibility to join on any device. There is a dedicated Q&A incorporated during and at the end of each webinar to allow participants to get their most pressing questions answered.
