Columbia County to Host Fifth Annual CTAE Workforce Showcase Competition
Thursday, January 30th, 2025
Columbia County, in partnership with the Columbia County School District, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and Columbia County Chamber Foundation, is excited to announce the fifth annual Columbia County CTAE (Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education) Workforce Showcase Competition. The event will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025, beginning at 8:30 AM in the Multipurpose Facility at the Columbia County Sheriff’s Complex.
This year’s showcase will feature a diverse range of pathways, including Agriculture, Automotive, Electrical, Engineering, Fire/EMR, and Law Enforcement. Approximately 120 students from five local high schools—Evans High School, Greenbrier High School, Grovetown High School, Harlem High School, and Lakeside High School—will be showcasing their skills and knowledge gained through their respective CTAE programs.
The Columbia County CTAE Workforce Showcase Competition offers students the opportunity to demonstrate the practical skills they are developing in the classroom and through hands-on experiences.
This event not only benefits students by allowing them to interact with local businesses, but also provides teachers and local businesses with a unique platform to connect with the next generation of workers. Local business owners will have the chance to see firsthand the talent being nurtured in the classrooms, and students will gain valuable insights into potential employment opportunities available to them after high school graduation.
“We are thrilled to provide this opportunity for our students to showcase their skills and connect with local businesses,” said Leanne Reece, Director of Internal Services of Columbia County.
“This event highlights the incredible talent and dedication of our students and underscores the importance of career, technical, and agricultural education in preparing them for the workforce of tomorrow.”
The competition is expected to be an educational and engaging event, and the public is encouraged to attend and support the students as they demonstrate their skills and prepare for the future.
