Aiken Symphony has selected Cynthia South to assume its new general

manager position to support Executive Director Wendy Hirsch.

“We are excited to have Cynthia join our management team. She is very familiar with the

assuming several management responsibilities as well as community outreach. We look

forward to this next chapter.”

Carolina, Richland Memorial Hospital, Greenville Hospital System, Duke Medical Center

and University of North Carolina Hospitals. She also co-founded a statewide talk radio

network and began her career in print journalism. South has a bachelor’s degree in

journalism from the University of Missouri, and a master’s degree in public administration

specializing in healthcare from USC.

Cynthia is a board member and past president of the South Carolina International

Association of Business Communicators. She also is a past board member of IABC’s

Southern Region. She has served on many boards in South Carolina, including the Aiken

Technical College Foundation and USC School of Journalism Partnership Board.
