The Merchants Association of Columbia County has announced that the 5th Annual Columbia County Spring Fair will start on Friday, April 18th, and continue through Sunday, April 27th, on Columbia Road across from Patriot's Park at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. The Spring Fair is sponsored by the Merchants Association of Columbia County, which is composed of volunteers from local businesses.

This year, a major portion of the proceeds from the Spring Fair will be donated to Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia. The gift will be used to support the expansion of the PICU from 14 to 22 beds, allowing the children's hospital to care for even more babies in need of critical care.

Other charities supported by the Merchants Association of Columbia County include: 4H Club Columbia County Extension, Cancer Support Services, Fort Eisenhower Christmas House, ReStart Augusta, Future Farmers of America - Harlem-Evans, Martinez-Evans Little League, Columbia County Cares, Child Enrichment of Augusta, Healthy Grandparents Program of AU, Columbia County Day with A Deputy, Grovetown Police Dept. Christmas Fund, and Safe Homes Augusta.

The Merchants Association of Columbia County also sponsors The Miss Columbia County Fair Pageant, The Columbia County Christmas Parade (to be held Sunday, December 7th this year), The Ruby Lane/Terry Davis Memorial Classic Golf Tournament, and other community events.
