Goodwill and Local Church Team Up to 'Stuff the Truck' and Transform Lives – Ribbon Cutting Aug 21
Wednesday, August 20th, 2025
The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 21, at 3:00 p.m. for a new Goodwill donation site located at 703 Fury’s Ferry Road in Evans. The site represents a meaningful partnership between Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA and Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, working together to help individuals and families thrive.
The public is invited to take part in a “Stuff the Truck” donation drive during the celebration. Everyone is encouraged to bring gently used clothing, household items, or small furniture to help fill the truck. Donations support local education, skills training, and career services through Goodwill and Helms College, giving people the skills they need to get back on their feet and move forward in life.
“This isn’t just about collecting donations. It’s about changing lives,” said Jennifer Tyner, Vice President for Marketing and Development at Goodwill. “When someone donates at this site, they’re helping a neighbor gain confidence, get a job, or go to college. And that’s the kind of impact we can make when we work together as a community.”
“At Gospel Water Branch, we’ve always believed in reaching our community with the love and hope of Jesus Christ, not just through words, but through action,” said Pastor Robert L. Ramsey, Pastor of Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church. “Partnering with Goodwill allows us to live out our calling as the ‘Church that cares.’ When our church family gives, we’re helping someone get a second chance, find purpose, and experience the power of the Lord in a real and life-changing way.”
Donation site hours are:
Monday – Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Join us for the celebration, bring a donation, and help us stuff the truck—for good.
