Friday, September 5th, 2025

The Jessye Norman School of The Arts (JNSA) is proud to announce its Annual Benefit Concert, "Rising Stars," on Sunday, October 12th, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theater. This year’s concert is a celebration of emerging vocal talent and a vital fundraiser to support JNSA's mission of providing free, high-quality arts and educational programming to students in the Augusta community.

This special performance will feature an extraordinary showcase of young, accomplished performers from the Atlanta Opera, who are making their names in the world of classical and contemporary voice. Audiences will have the rare opportunity to experience the power, grace, and raw emotion of these artists on the cusp of stardom, performing a diverse repertoire that will captivate and inspire.

"The 'Rising Stars' concert is a beautiful synergy of our mission and the legacy of our namesake, Jessye Norman," said Gary Dennis, Executive Director of the Jessye Norman School of The Arts. "Like Ms. Norman, these young artists have dedicated their lives to their craft. By bringing them to Augusta, we not only offer an exceptional cultural experience but also provide a tangible example for our students of what passion and hard work can achieve. The funds raised will directly impact the lives of our students by providing the resources they need to discover their own unique voices and unlock their full potential."

Patrons' support of this concert is more than just attending a show; it's an investment in the future of Augusta's youth. The Jessye Norman School of The Arts provides crucial after-school and summer programming in fine arts, academics, and life skills, at no cost to students. By attending "Rising Stars," you help fund scholarships, mentorship programs, and essential resources that empower students to overcome challenges and build a brighter future.

Following the concert, a VIP After Party will be held at the Jessye Norman School of The Arts located at 739 Greene Street. This exclusive event offers a chance to meet and mingle with the featured performers, JNSA faculty, and other dedicated supporters of the arts. It is an evening of celebration, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of creative leaders.
