Walmart Completes Remodel of Augusta Store

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, October 31st, 2025

Walmart today announces the completion of a remodel of its location at 260 Bobby Jones Expressway in Augusta, Georgia. The 220,431-square-foot Supercenter underwent a 16-week transformation that added significant updates and improvements. Walmart plans to hold a re-grand opening ceremony on Friday, Oct. 31, at 9 a.m. to celebrate the launch of the remodeled store.

This refresh will bring a variety of upgrades to Store #1227, all designed to provide customers with a better overall shopping experience. Highlights include new registers, floor renovation, revised color layout, enhanced lighting in the bathrooms, the addition of a Dunkin’ inside the store and a revamped pharmacy with a wellness room. This private space includes an area for medical testing and treatments. Wellness rooms are being introduced in Walmart stores across the country, offering customers privacy during vaccinations and health consultations, plus a secluded area for nursing mothers.

“With these impactful store upgrades, our customers will be able to enjoy an improved shopping experience, as new registers will enable swift checkouts and Dunkin’ coffee can provide a little extra shopping energy,” said Yvonne Crawford, store manager at the Augusta Walmart Supercenter. “The refresh is also meaningful to our associates, 34 of whom have over two decades of experience working at this location, demonstrating its place as a mainstay in the community.”

Additional enhancements include mannequins in the fashion department, new digital menu boards and updated signage for various departments across the store. The front of the building also transformed from a brown exterior to the signature blue Walmart paint and yellow spark logo.

Other stores undergoing remodels in the Augusta area include locations at 3338 Wrightsboro Rd. and 300 S. Belair Rd. This year, Walmart has set a goal to remodel more than 650 stores across the U.S., including 20 in Georgia. Prior to 2025, Walmart invested more than $1.1 billion to upgrade stores throughout Georgia over the past five years. With 209 retail units and 13 supply chain facilities, Walmart employs over 65,000 associates in the Peach State.
