CSRA Donation Centers now Accepting Food Alongside Gently Used Goods to Help Local Families

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, November 7th, 2025

This holiday season, Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA is making it easier for neighbors across the CSRA to help families facing food insecurity. In partnership with Golden Harvest Food Bank, all Goodwill donation centers in the region are now accepting nonperishable food items through December 31.

Community members can drop off food alongside their gently used goods—making Goodwill a one-stop location for giving back this season. All donated food will be distributed by Golden Harvest Food Bank to help local families, while donated goods support Goodwill’s mission of building lives, families, and communities through education, job training, and career services.

“We know that many families are struggling to put food on the table this time of year,” said James K. Stiff, President of Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA. “By partnering with Golden Harvest Food Bank, we can make it easier for our community to meet those immediate needs while continuing our long-term work, helping people gain the skills and confidence to build stable, self-sustaining careers.”

Donors can bring most-needed non-perishable food items such as canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans), vegetables, rice, pasta, peanut butter, and cereal to any Goodwill donation center in the CSRA. Food and goods will be collected together throughout the holiday season.

“We’re grateful for community partners like Goodwill that share our mission to end hunger and strengthen families,” said Amy Breitmann, President and CEO, Golden Harvest Food Bank. “Every food donation collected through this partnership will go directly to families right here in the CSRA.”  Those in need can utilize the food pantry finder tool on Golden Harvest’s website by visiting GoldenHarvest.org and clicking on “Find Help”.

Goodwill’s retail training stores, Helms College, and Edgar’s Hospitality Group work together to help people discover and develop their God-given gifts. Every donation and every purchase supports scholarships, job training, and hands-on education that empower individuals to earn paychecks, support their families, and strengthen our local economy.
