The Augusta Technical College Foundation, Inc. has received a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation for the Central Savannah River Area to support the expansion of the Empowering Futures Through Job Training program, a workforce initiative serving individuals experiencing homelessness or significant economic hardship across the CSRA. 

The grant will fund five intensive, no-cost workforce boot camps serving approximately 50 participants. Delivered in partnership with The Salvation Army of Augusta, the program provides job readiness training, hands-on technical instruction, and industry-recognized certifications to prepare participants for employment in high-demand fields, including manufacturing, banking and finance, and culinary and hospitality. 

“At Augusta Tech, we believe access to workforce training can be life-changing,” said Julie Langham, Vice President, Economic Development. “This investment helps remove barriers to employment and connects individuals to practical skills and meaningful career pathways that support long-term stability.” 

Grant funds will support certified instructors, training materials, certification fees, and basic program evaluation. Participants also receive career assessments, resume and interview preparation, and job placement assistance
following program completion. 

Since its launch, Augusta Technical College has delivered 11 workforce boot camps serving 120 participants, with strong attendance and certification pass rates, demonstrating the effectiveness of short-term, skills-based training for vulnerable populations. 

Augusta Technical College serves nearly 5,000 academic students annually across the CSRA and provides workforce training to more than 6,700 individuals each year through its Economic Development Division. The Augusta Technical College Foundation supports this mission through scholarships, emergency assistance, and investments in workforce and technical education programs.
