Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History announces release of 2026 Calendar

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History and Conference center announces the release of its 2026 annual 12-month black history calendar entitled, “Augusta Achievers - Celebrating Augusta’s Black History: Trailblazers, Gamechangers, Luminaries, Pacesetters”.Every month celebrates Augusta’s black history with a profile highlighting an Augustan who has made outstanding accomplishments with the CSRA or beyond.From fields such as business, education, medicine, the arts, and politics, Augusta Achievers profiles Dr. Miriam Jones Atkins, Oncologist; Dr. Ruth B. Crawford, founder of Shiloh Community Center; Rosa T. Beard, founder of the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club, Rev. Dr. Larry Fryer, Community Activist; McKenzie Hill, rising star honoree and freshman at the University of Georgia; Rev. Christopher Johnson, Greater Augusta’s Interfaith Coalition; Jordan Johnson, Augusta, Commissioner District 1; Dr. Stacey Mabrey, educator; Dr. Louise Allen Rice, former National President of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.; Damien Sneed, internationally recognized musician, composer, singer; Charles W. Walker, entrepreneur and politician; and Bishop Rosa Williams, pastor, Everfaithful Baptist Church.Calendars are $20.00 and can be purchased by visiting the museum at 1116 Phillips Street. Calendars can also be shipped upon request.A calendar signing where the community can meet the honorees will be held at the Laney Museum on Friday, January 9, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.Proceeds from the calendar support the Laney Museum’s ongoing mission to preserve Augusta’s Black History, to educate the community and provide innovative and impactful programming.
