Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced today the sale of a 182-room DoubleTree by Hilton located in Augusta, Georgia.
“The buyer of DoubleTree Augusta is highly confident in the fundamentals of the Augusta market and will be adding to their existing presence there,” said Robert Hunter, senior managing director investments. “The hotel will be heavily renovated and positioned to complement its existing hotel, which was also recently acquired.”
Hunter and McLean Hicklin, in association with John Leonard, Marcus & Millichap’s broker of record in Georgia, exclusively marketed the property on behalf of the seller, a locally based private-party portfolio owner, and procured the buyer, The Flacks Group, a Miami-based opportunistic real estate and corporate investor.
The Flacks Group already owns the Crowne Plaza North Augusta and is planning a transformational renovation of the DoubleTree asset, including a comprehensive guestroom redesign, significant upgrades to public areas and meeting space, enhancements to food-and-beverage offerings, and back-of-house and building systems improvements aimed at materially elevating the hotel’s positioning, operating performance, and long-term competitiveness within the Augusta market.
Built in 1990, the DoubleTree by Hilton is located at 2651 Perimeter Parkway, just off Interstate 20 near the entrance to Augusta National Golf Club. The full-service hotel features meeting and event space, a restaurant and bar, a fitness center, an outdoor pool and business amenities.
