Augusta Charter Review Committee Ends without Quorum or Final Vote

It’s a wrap for the Augusta Charter Review Committee. For the second day in a row several members were no-shows at was to be the committee’s final meeting.
Friday’s meeting was meant to finalize changes to the city’s government and send them to the state legislature for a vote. However, without a quorum, the committee couldn’t move forward.
“We have a draft charter that needed to be amended and tweaked by the body. That didn’t get accomplished. So not quite sure where that leaves us,” said Marcie Wilhelmi, chairman of the committee.
