Augusta Leaders Consider Changes to ‘Ban the Box’ Policy

It’s called the justice-impacted community – people who did their time, but can’t escape their past.
“The fact of the matter is, that folks who are justice impacted are not boogie men. They’re not what you see painted on the news,” said Commissioner Jordan Johnson.
City leaders held this work session on potential changes to the city’s Ban the Box policy. The goal: a better chance of landing a job.
