Four Local Scouts Earn Rank of Eagle Scout
Thursday, March 5th, 2026
Four outstanding young leaders from the Georgia-Carolina Council, Scouting America have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting. This prestigious accomplishment represents years of dedication, leadership, service, and commitment to the Scout Oath and Law.
To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, each candidate must complete a minimum of 21 merit badges, demonstrate leadership within their troop, and plan and lead a significant community service project benefiting a local organization. Fewer than six percent of Scouts nationwide achieve this distinguished rank.
Each of these four Scouts led impactful Eagle Scout service projects that will benefit the community for years to come:
-
Mackenzie Roszkowski organized and led volunteers to build a gazebo and benches at Hilltop Riding Stables.
-
Emily Thomas planned and completed a free library and blessing box project at Grovetown United Methodist Church.
-
Jacob Bourdon coordinated a community garden project at Friendship Baptist Church.
-
Luke Wallace led efforts to repair the Sunshine Boardwalk at Phinizy Swamp.
“These young men and women represent the very best of what Scouting develops in our youth — character, leadership, and a heart for service,” said Scout Executive, Dan Rogers. “Their dedication and perseverance set an example for others to follow.”
The Eagle Scout rank is more than an award; it is a lifelong achievement. Studies show that Eagle Scouts go on to excel in leadership roles in business, government, education, and the military, continuing their commitment to service throughout their lives.
The community congratulates these four remarkable young leaders on reaching Scouting’s highest honor and thanks them for their lasting contributions.
