Augusta Election Funding Needs Raise Concerns for Contingency Budget

It was slow going on the last day of early voting for the House District 130 run-off, but in this election, there has not been a lot of bang for the bucks.
“With the special election, with it being about $60-thousand, it’s about $35 dollars per vote,” said Elections Director Travis Doss.
Now comes the run-off adding another nearly $40-thousand to the cost, and since this is a special election, none of this is in the city’s budget, so Doss had to go before commissioners to request more funding.
