Businesses See Surge Ahead of Augusta National Women’s Amateur

Businesses across the Central Savannah River Area are already seeing an increase in customers as visitors arrive ahead of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, which begins Wednesday.
From coffee shops to restaurants near Champions Retreat, owners say foot traffic has steadily picked up throughout the week — with expectations for even larger crowds in the coming days.
At Rooted Coffee, barista Allison Behrend says the shift is noticeable.
“It’s such an exciting time of year,” Behrend said. “It’s been fun watching everyone come in wearing their green, talking about golf. It’s been just a lot of excitement in the air.”
