Thursday, April 2nd, 2026
The Jewish Community Center of Augusta (JCCFA) and the Augusta Jewish Museum will co-sponsor a communitywide Yom HaShoah Holocaust Memorial Program on April 14, 2026, at 6:45 p.m. at Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 935 Johns Road. This evening of remembrance will honor the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust through memorials, music and a presentation titled "Childhood Interrupted: Holocaust Childhood — Wounds That Never Heal" by Robert Ratonyi of the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust.
Mr. Ratonyi’s presentation will examine the lasting impact of the Holocaust on children who experienced persecution, displacement and loss, highlighting survivor resilience and the importance of education and remembrance.
Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorates the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and honors survivors. The Augusta community is invited to gather in reflection and remembrance.
The program is free and open to the public.
