Local Firefighter Plays Key Role in Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champion’s Victory

When you spend your life fighting fires and saving lives, the word pressure becomes relative.
On Saturday, during the final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA), a local firefighter found himself in the middle of the biggest stage in women’s golf. Darren Woo works as a firefighter at Savannah River Site. He also caddies at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans. That is how he came to meet eventual ANWA champion Maria Jose Marin.
