Possible Cyber Center Parcel D Questions Stall Riverside Village Upgrade Plan

A Riverside Village upgrade plan is on hold after North Augusta City Council voted to table a key resolution Monday night.
The proposal calls for about $270,000 in improvements near the Crowne Plaza and SRP Park, including pedestrian safety upgrades in the median—benches, bollards, and traffic-calming features. The discussion centered on Parcel D.
“The $240,000 we’re fixing to spend to improve the median and put concrete benches in is enough to buy this whole parcel. So don’t tell me we don’t have the money,” said North Augusta City Council Member Dennis Briatico.
