United Way of the CSRA is proud to announce that it has received a Project DASH Impact Grant from DoorDash. Project DASH is DoorDash’s initiative to empower food banks, food pantries, and other social impact organizations to deliver charitable food and other essential items to people experiencing food insecurity.
"At United Way of the CSRA, we know that true community support means meeting people where they are.For many of our most vulnerable neighbors—including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families without reliable transportation—access to essential resources often stops at their front door,” said Brittany Burnett, President and CEO of United Way of the CSRA. “This grant is a game-changer for our mission; it provides the critical infrastructure needed to bridge that gap through home delivery. By bringing food, health supplies, and other vital items directly to those in need, we aren't just delivering goods—we are delivering hope, dignity, and the assurance that no one in the CSRA is forgotten."
United Way of the CSRA continues to break down barriers to essential resources for our neighbors in need. By coordinating a strategic partnership between DoorDash (and all our hard-working, local Dashers), Golden Harvest Food Bank, and partner food pantries throughout our area, United Way of the CSRA has revolutionized local access to nutrition for those facing transportation challenges or limited mobility. This powerful collaboration reached a significant milestone in 2025, successfully completing 1,422 home deliveries to vulnerable individuals and families throughout the community. By leveraging this innovative delivery infrastructure, United Way of the CSRA ensures that vital food supplies move directly from the food bank to the front doors of those who need them most, reinforcing a long-standing mission to support the health and well-being of our neighbors.
“We’re proud to continue partnering with United Way of the CSRA to serve the people of Augusta,” said Daniel Riff, Head of Government and Nonprofit Operations at DoorDash “Each day, our partners across the U.S. work to broaden food access in multiple ways, including by leveraging home delivery. Project DASH helps organizations break down barriers to access and serve vulnerable populations in a convenient and dignified way. We’re excited to see how they leverage the Project DASH Impact Grant and to continue partnering with them.”
Launched by DoorDash in 2018, Project DASH empowers social impact organizations—such as food banks and pantries—to work with Dashers and use DoorDash technology to provide local delivery to their communities. Across the U.S. and Canada, Project DASH has powered more than eight million deliveries of an estimated over 135 million meals. To date, United Way of the CSRA and Project DASH have paid local food Dashers to make 1,879 deliveries of emergency bags of food filled with over 14,000 meals to Augusta residents.
