Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, May 6th, 2026

The Georgia-Carolina Council is proud to recognize five outstanding Scouts who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting. Through leadership, perseverance, and meaningful service projects, Kasey Gruwell, Anna Teague, Patrick Wiles, Rigel Kotas, and Jacob Dudley demonstrated their commitment to serving others and improving their communities.

Each Scout completed a large-scale Eagle Scout service project designed to benefit local organizations and community members. Their projects addressed needs ranging from healthcare accessibility and youth spaces to environmental conservation and community recreation.

Kasey Gruwell of Troop 643 dedicated 147 hours to improving the West Town Kids Building at West Town Community Church. The project focused on creating a more welcoming and functional environment for children and families who utilize the space.

Anna Teague of Troop 2319 invested 129 hours reorganizing the Patient Closet at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. Her work helped make essential items more accessible and efficient for healthcare providers and patients.

Patrick Wiles of Troop 122 completed a toy drive benefiting Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Over the course of 240 service hours, he led efforts that resulted in more than $11,500 in donations to support children receiving medical care.

Rigel Kotas of Troop 643 spent 176 hours developing a pollinator garden at the Georgia Carolina Nature & Adventure Center. The project supports honeybee populations while also serving as an educational feature for visiting school groups and field trips.

Jacob Dudley of Troop 119 revitalized a local sports field by adding seating and improving safety for spectators and families, helping create a more welcoming environment for community recreation.

The rank of Eagle Scout is earned by only a small percentage of Scouts nationwide and represents years of dedication, leadership development, outdoor skills, and community service. These five Scouts exemplify the values of Scouting through their hard work and commitment to making a lasting impact.

The Georgia-Carolina Council congratulates each of these new Eagle Scouts and looks forward to the continued positive influence they will have within their communities.
