Food Truck Owners Adjust Business Strategies as Gas Prices Rise

The national average for gas prices has crossed $4.50 per gallon, with both Georgia and South Carolina coming in under the national average but still over $4 per gallon, according to AAA’s gas prices map.

For food trucks, gas keeps their business alive, and with more money going into the gas tank, less can go to other areas of the business.

Tyrin Fanning, owner of Fat and Lilys, said fuel costs can run about $500 to $700 a week.

“Weekly, it can roughly run about 500 to $700 a week, just depending on what type of vehicle that you’re running. Some people are running diesel, some are running, you know, fuel, I mean, gas and stuff like that too as well. And then you have to fuel your generator as well. So you got those charges,” Fanning said.
