Wednesday, May 27th, 2026

Georgia REALTORS® (GAR) is partnering with the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF), a subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS®, to provide housing-related financial assistance to Georgia residents impacted by the devastating wildfires that swept through southern portions of the state in April 2026.

The fires impacted 91 counties across the state, burning more than 50,000 acres, damaging homes and forcing hundreds of families from their communities. Through this disaster relief effort, eligible residents may receive assistance for housing-related expenses as they work to recover and rebuild.
“We know that recovery after a natural disaster can be overwhelming for families and communities,” said GAR President Brianne Drake. “Through our partnership with the National Association of REALTORS®, REALTORS® Relief Foundation, we are committed to helping Georgians access housing support and resources as they begin rebuilding their lives.”

Applications for assistance are now open and must be submitted by midnight on July 15, 2026. To qualify, applicants must reside in one of the 91 counties included in Governor Brian Kemp’s disaster declaration for public assistance.
“For many families, losing access to stable housing after a disaster can be one of the most difficult challenges to overcome,” said GAR President Brianne Drake. “These funds are designed to provide immediate relief and help residents move forward.”
