Augusta Technical College capped a successful 2025–26 competition season with four medals and two individual honors at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC), held June 1–5 in Atlanta. The conference drew more than 19,000 students, teachers, school administrators and business partners from across the country, and Georgia finished as the No. 6 state in the nation with 55 total medals.

Augusta Technical College students earned the following recognitions:

• Gold Medal, Graphic Imaging Sublimation - Angela Wilson, who also received the Dr. John L. Scott Award, presented to the highest-scoring competitor in her event.
• Silver Medal, Video Production - Brentson Judon
• Silver Medal, Video Production - Justin “Eli” Sikes
• Bronze Medal, Culinary Arts - Casandra Garcia

In addition to the students’ individual wins, Sherrie Rowe, Augusta Technical College’s lead SkillsUSA advisor, was selected by the SkillsUSA National Board of Directors as a 2026 Outstanding Career and Technical Educator Award honoree, recognizing her leadership in preparing students for the national stage.

Hooker, President of Augusta Technical College. “Every medal earned at this level represents real, in-demand skill, and it reinforces why technical education is so essential to building Georgia’s workforce. We are extremely proud of this team and grateful for the advisors who invest in our students year-round.”
