Augusta University Hosts Fourth Camp Discovery for Cancer Survivors
Monday, July 20th, 2026
Camp Discovery is a program for cancer participants designed to help improve both the physical and emotional well-being of women here in Augusta.
Camp Discovery is a one-week program through Augusta University, that brings together women who went through similar physical, emotional, and mental challenges in their journeys. The program held at the HUB for Community Innovation Augusta.
Organizers say that having a supportive community can make a big difference, even if the women have different stories.
“We knew that the research was telling us that women who, have had a cancer experience, sometimes as they go through the recovery process and even after treatment, don’t get back to a fully engaged life like they had prior to their diagnosis. So, the goal of Camp Discovery has always been to create an opportunity for women to engage with other women and maybe learn a new activity that can become a hobby for them.” said Pam Kearney, Co-Founder of Camp Discovery.
