There is an emergency blood shortage in the CSRA, and hospitals say the need is critical and are continuing to push for more blood donations.

With these emergency blood donations needed across the area, blood centers are asking for help to continue providing blood for those in need.

On this past Sunday, Shepeard Community Blood Center has sent off an Emergency Appeal. The blood income at blood centers is not enough for individuals who are requesting blood.

With shortages being so low this summer hospitals, Wellstar MCG and Piedmont Augusta are chiming in to help reach out to the community for blood donations.
