Southern Fired Foods Opens First Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant as Grovetown Continues to Grow

A popular local food truck is expanding into its first brick-and-mortar restaurant, a move city leaders say reflects Grovetown's continued economic growth and its appeal to locally owned businesses.
Southern Fired Foods recently opened its new pickup restaurant on East Robinson Avenue after spending more than three years serving customers from its wood-fired pizza truck.
Owner Gil Rowland said the decision to establish a permanent location came after customers repeatedly asked when the business would open a restaurant. After searching several communities, he chose Grovetown because of its rapid residential growth, proximity to Fort Gordon and strong community support.
