Scouting America is proud to recognize Ava Muselli, Jason High, and Anna Williams for earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Scouting. This prestigious honor is earned by only a small percentage of Scouts and reflects years of dedication, leadership, community service, and commitment to living the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
As part of the Eagle Scout rank requirements, each Scout planned, organized, and led a significant service project that addressed a community need while demonstrating exceptional leadership and project management skills.
Ava Muselli completed her Eagle Scout Service Project for the U.S. Forest Service, creating a new rest area at the FATS trailhead. She cleared the site and constructed pathways leading to three picnic tables, providing cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts with a welcoming place to rest after enjoying the trails. Ava dedicated 102 service hours to planning and leading this project, creating a lasting improvement for one of the area's most popular outdoor recreation destinations.
Jason High completed his Eagle Scout Service Project for Dearing Elementary School, revitalizing the school's butterfly garden into an engaging outdoor learning space. His project enhances opportunities for students to learn about butterflies, their habitats, and the importance of pollinators in the environment. Jason contributed 176 service hours to planning and completing this project, leaving a valuable educational resource for future generations of students.
Anna Williams completed her Eagle Scout Service Project for Grovetown Elementary School, transforming an unused grassy area into a thriving pollinator garden. The project features native pollinator-friendly plants, a winding stepping-stone pathway, an arched trellis with coral honeysuckle, and educational signage that teaches visitors about bees and the importance of supporting local pollinators throughout the year. Anna invested 114 service hours in creating a beautiful outdoor classroom that will benefit students, teachers, and the community for years to come.
"Earning the rank of Eagle Scout represents years of perseverance, leadership, and service," said Scout Executive Dan Rogers. "Ava, Jason, and Anna have each demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving their communities through meaningful service projects that will benefit others for years to come. We congratulate them on this remarkable accomplishment."
The Eagle Scout rank is the highest achievement in Scouting America and requires Scouts to earn at least 21 merit badges, serve in leadership positions within their troop, and successfully complete a substantial community service project.
Scouting America prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices throughout their lifetimes by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The accomplishments of Ava Muselli, Jason High, and Anna Williams exemplify the organization's mission to develop leaders of character who are committed to serving others.
