Augusta Commission Updates its Meeting Policies, Decorum Rules for Speakers

Dr. Gayla Keesee has been here before, she often addresses the commission on community issues.
“Making sure that public is incorporated into this,” said Keesee, the co-president of the League of Woman Voters. “Civic engagement is not a one-way street it needs to come from the government as well as the citizens being engaged also.”
In recent weeks, the citizens have been engaged at commission meetings. There’s been a marked increase in people signing up to speak.
