More and more residents are coming before commissioners, but are the speakers appearing too often?

“We have unfortunately speakers that come, who not only speak at every commission, but every committee cycle, tend to be on the same topic,” said Mayor Garnett Johnson.

Commissioners approved new rules of decorum for speakers, but left in place the rule that says speakers must wait 90 days before going back before commissioners to discuss the same issue.

“We want to make sure that’s reinforced, but people want to put something on there as far as subject line than the change their whole reason for being up there speaking, and we got to stay with, you know, structure,” said Mayor Pro-Tem Wayne Guilfoyle
