Augusta Remembers Late Icon Dolly Parton

We are remembering the life and legacy of country music legend Dolly Parton. Dolly was born in Tennessee, deep in Appalachia. Parton’s representative said she died Tuesday after a brief battle with cancer.
Dolly Parton. An icon. A legend. These are the words being used to describe a woman small in stature, but larger than life. Her impact is felt across the world through her music and her movies. But it was her quiet philanthropy that changed lives.
“Definitely loved who she is as a person, who she is as an artist,” said Lori Van Lenten, Artistic Director at VOCE Studios.
