Georgia’s First African-American Senate Majority Leader Charles Walker Passes

Former State Senator Charles W. Walker, Sr. died Tuesday morning.
According to a representative of the family, State Senator Walker passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
State Senator Walker was Georgia’s first African-American Senate Majority Leader.
According to the family’s representative, State Senator Walker dedicated his life to public service and to the Augusta Community he loved.
