North Augusta Moves Greeneway Under Tourism Department to Boost Visitors

North Augusta’s Greeneway has long been a place for people to walk, run, and bike.
Now, the city is putting more focus on the trail by moving it under the Tourism Department.
“Just a more concentrated effort on one of our crown jewels of the city,” Tourism Director Karl Waldhauer said.
Moving the Greeneway under Tourism means the department responsible for attracting visitors will now also oversee promoting the trail, developing events, and marketing it as a destination. City leaders say the goal isn’t to change the Greeneway. It’s to make it even better.
