Augusta Market Lends a Helping Hand to Downtown Businesses

Many business owners say the Broad Street construction is hurting downtown businesses. Organizers of the Augusta Market are inviting them to the Riverwalk space to help boost business.

The Augusta Market is offering Broad Street businesses a 50% discount to have booths at the event on Saturdays. Organizers say they will also help with set up.

Only a couple of Broad Street businesses have taken advantage of the opportunity. Organizers said they could set up a downtown showcase section if enough businesses take part.

“We can make a circle where people can come in,” Augusta Market director Brooke Buxton said.
