The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its 44th “Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy.”

The Sheriff’s Office has been offering the “Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy” since 1998. The goal is to give people some insight into the agency’s day to day operations.

“Several divisions of the sheriff’s office come and give an overview and talk a little bit about what they do and how they do it. So, it kind of lets our citizens see what we have going on at the sheriff’s office,” explained Lt. Patricia Champion, Community Services Division at CCSO.

Participants will attend the class every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 10 weeks. But they won’t just sit in a classroom for three hours.
