26th Miracle Mile Walk Raises Funds for Local Cancer Screenings
Monday, October 19th, 2026
The 26th annual Miracle Mile Walk kicked off at the old train depot in downtown Augusta. The change in location from previous years was due to the construction on Broad Street.
The walk is an opportunity for breast cancer survivors and their supporters to come together. People band together in teams to try to raise the most money. Fundraising goes to help women in the CSRA get screenings for breast cancer regardless of ability to pay.
People walking have different stories. Many talk about the importance of support from others.
“I had invasive ductal carcinoma and triple negative and I had a very severe reaction to it,” said Patricia Price. “If it wasn’t for the churches here and my family supporting me, I wouldn’t be on this side of the journey.”
