New signs are now up and a new name is officially in place at Augusta’s children’s hospital, nearly a year after a $50 million donation.

In December 2025, Paychex founder Tom Golisano pledged $50 million to what was then the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. In recognition of the donation, the hospital was renamed the Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Installation of the permanent exterior signage with the new name has recently been completed.

To mark the milestone, Wellstar is hosting a public naming celebration and plaque unveiling Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Organizers say the event will include remarks from health care and foundation leaders and a formal reveal of a plaque recognizing Golisano’s donation.
