October 21, 2026. The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host a Local Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 27 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Hardin Auditorium inside the Columbia County Library. The event is open to Columbia County residents and will feature candidates in two of the three local commission races appearing on ballots in the current General and Special Election.
“An engaged and informed community is essential to Columbia County’s continued success,” said Heath Taylor, President and CEO of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. “We’re not here to sway people in voting one way or another. We’re here to give residents the opportunity to hear directly from those seeking office, and to encourage them to fully understand the issues that shape our community’s future.”
Candidates who have confirmed their participation in the forum include District 1 candidates Alex Griffin (R) and Michael A. Jordan (D), and Columbia County Commission Chairperson candidates Alison Couch (R) and Cambrey Wood (D). Columbia County Commission District 4 candidates Al Reeves (R) and Samantha Rockwood (D) were also invited but could not attend due to previously scheduled commitments.
Early and absentee voting is currently open until Friday, October 30 at select polling locations. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
