The Color Run Augusta to Impact Traffic

The Color Run Augusta presented by the Augusta Sports Council and the Westobou Festival announce information regarding The Color Run route and traffic. Traffic conditions will be impacted on area roads on Saturday, October 3, 2015 beginning at 6:00 a.m. and continuing until 11:00 a.m.
The following blocks will be closed from 5:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Telfair Street from 5th Street to 6th Street
Telfair Street from 9th Street to 10th Street
Greene Street westbound from 7th to 8th Street
Greene Street westbound from 9th to 10th Street
Monument Street from Broad Street to Ellis Street
The following roads will be closed from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Telfair Street from 5th Street to 11th Street
11th Street from Telfair Street through Broad Street
Greene Street from 5th Street through 11th Street - east and westbound
Broad Street from 5th Street to 11th Street - eastbound
5th Street from Broad Street to Walker Street
These will be rolling road closures. Streets will open as soon as the last runner passes and the street is cleared.
The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5K on the Planet, is a unique color race that celebrates happiness, healthiness, individuality, and giving back to the community. Less about your mile and more about having the time of your life. The Color Run™ is a five-kilometer, untimed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Fun Festival”, using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations.
The Color Run is expected to have close to 3,000 participants in this event. The start line and festival area will be at the Parade Grounds at the Old Academy of Richmond County, located at 540 Telfair Street.
Registration is still open at www.thecolorrun.com/augusta and participants are invited to redeem a $5 off coupon by using “SPORTS” in the coupon code area. Packet pick-up will be at The Color Run Expo at The Doris Building, located at 930 Broad Street, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015. Race day check-in is available starting at 7:30 a.m. The first wave will begin at 9:00 a.m.
